I am accepting students for private lessons in my home studio in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood of Philly; located near 20th and South St.
All ages and skill levels are welcome!
My teaching studio has a full range of percussion instruments available for instruction for many different genres of music, including: drum set, 4 timpani, 5-octave marimba, xylophone, glockenspiel, vibraphone, snare drums, and all hand held percussion accessory instruments.
I am currently cleared through the following background checks: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Record Check, and have completed training through the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in their Safe Environment Training (aka Protecting God's Children) and Mandated Reporter training program

My teaching philosophy:
My goal as a teacher is not only to help my students learn and become an amazing drummer and percussionist, but also guide them on their journey to finding their musical identity. With drums and percussion as the main vehicle, I aim to cultivate the student’s own unique expressive voice on these instruments to deepen their musical fluency and interest. My dream as a teacher is to be a musical guide for each student. It is not enough to provide instruction on an instrument, and I seek to provide students with a well rounded creative experience that can deepen their critical thinking process. Drums and percussion instruments provide a fun and approachable pathway to do this. I look forward to any chance I can get to share my passion for music with my students!
ABOUT ME
I am currently a freelance musician in Philadelphia performing with many of the area’s finest orchestras and other ensembles. With over a decade of teaching experience, I also have 3 degrees in music performance: Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory, and Master of Music and Doctorate of Musical Arts from Boston University. I am looking forward to having you join me in the studio.
